Görlitz: Guide
Görlitz är en kreisfri stad i den tyska delstaten Sachsen. Den är Tysklands östligaste stad och ligger vid floden Neisse, som utgör gräns|gränsen till Polen. Staden har sedan 1950 stadigt minskat sitt invånarantal från 100 000 till nuvarande ca 61 000 (2003).
1945 splittrades staden av Oder-Neisse-linjen där den östra delen hamnade i Polen och blev den polska staden Zgorzelec, vars namn också är polska för Görlitz. Under DDR-tiden tillhörde Görlitz Bezirk Dresden.
I Görlitz finns en fabrik som tillverkar järnvägsvagn|järnvägsvagnar.
