Trujillo: Guide
Trujillo, en stad i Extremadura regionen i Spanien, känd för sina monument, palatser och förhistoriska rester. Trujillos hjälte är erövraren Francisco Pizarro som upptäckte Peru, förintade dess inkarike, och seglade hem laster av guld till Spanien. Därav byggdes ståtliga slott och borgar just i Trujillos trakter, som än idag är välbevarade.
Trujillo hör till stadens Caceres kommun.
Bland de kändaste tillställningarna som hålls i Trujillo finns bland annat den internationella ostmässan, samt påskveckans "chiviri", en mycket folklig och livlig fest på stadens torg. Under chivirifesten ordnas uppträdanden i extremensk dans, så kallad "chota". Folk från hela Spanien kommer till byn för att fira påskens sista dag, "chiviri" firas på påsksöndagen.
