Sevilla är Spaniens fjärde största stad med 704.154 invånare i själva staden och 1.317.098 invånare i storstadsregionen (2005). Det är Andalusiens (Andalucía) största stad och denna provins traditionella huvudstad.
Kända byggnadsverk är bl.a. Katedralen i Sevilla|katedralen och Alcázar, Sevilla|Alcázar.
År 1992 hölls världsutställningen där. Den paviljong Sverige lät bygga upp då finns nu i Grythyttan i Bergslagen. Klimatmässigt är Sevilla Spaniens varmaste stad med en årlig medeltemperatur på 18,6°.
Fotbollslaget Real Betis är det ena av Sevillas två storlag. Det andra laget är Sevilla FC, båda lagen spelar i första divisionen.
