Sankt Moritz är huvudort i kommunen med St. Moritz (kommun, CH-GR)|samma namn i kantonen Graubünden, Schweiz.

Historia

Första gången som St. Moritz omnämns i skrift är 1139 när greven av Gamertingen säljer sina ägor i Oberengadin (region, CH-GR)|Oberengadin till biskopen i Chur.

Den 24 december 1878 tänds den första elektriska glödlampan i Schweiz i matsalen på Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz|Kulm Hotel.

Idrott

Sankt Moritz har stått värd för Olympiska vinterspelen|vinter-OS två gånger (Olympiska vinterspelen 1928|1928 och Olympiska vinterspelen 1948|1948) och alpina VM tre gånger (Alpina VM 1934|1934, Alpina VM 1974|1974 och Alpina VM 2003|2003).
