Staden i USA återfinns under Syracuse.
Syrakusa (italienska ön Siciliens ostkust. Staden är huvudort i provinsen Syrakusa (provins)|Syrakusa och har cirka 124 000 invånare.
Staden grundades 734 f.Kr. av Grekland|grekiska kolonisatörer. De kallade sin stad för Siraka ("kärr"). Den mest framträdande medborgaren i det grekiska Syrakusa var uppfinnaren och matematikern Arkimedes.
Syrakusa är en hamnstad med betydande industri, bland annat oljeraffinaderi, petrokemisk industri samt cement- och livsmedelsindustri. Staden, som är ett ärkebiskopssäte, har ett arkeologiskt museum och ett konstmuseum.
